Introduction

More than just new homes for Thaxted

Countryside has submitted a reserved matters application for 49 high-quality new homes on the land to the east of Wedow Road, Thaxted – the planning reference number is UTT/25/0348/DFO. This follows the granting of the Outline application (which establishes the principle of development and the access arrangements) in July 2024 – the planning reference number for the outline application is UTT/21/1836/OP.

The site will incorporate a number of additional benefits to enhance the local area including new public open green space, new pedestrian and cycle connections, a new link over Cripsey Brook toward Copthall Lane, as well as supporting the need for further housing in Uttlesford.

We want to thank everyone who submitted comments on the proposals to help evolve the scheme wherever possible.
